Nice piece of writing, Matt. The most raw, painfully honest thing I’ve read in a long time. No doubt, you will help someone feel a little less alone in their own personal journey through utter hell.

So well written Matt. Thanks for sharing, I understand all of it. My dad was diagnosed with cancer at 40 and passed at 46. Worst day of my life as a 20 yr old, so hard to move on. Eventually I realized he is always with me. It’s been 39 years, I miss him everyday, but a part of him is with me in my children and in me. I hope in time this will get easier for you.

The cycle of your Father’s life is complete. The painful three-month period is finished. But those many years of living with your father with your common joys, amusements, and disappointments is the fabric of your experience that you will take with you all your life.
